It's been a while. I'm familiar with developing with a team on a network using a revision control system.

Now I'm interested in doing more web development. I'll be working on several sites that use PHP and MySQL, and that will be hosted on various web hosts. My laptop will be my main work computer. I'll be developing in Ubuntu running in Virtualbox. I'll be using XAMPP for Linux (LAMPP), and plan on installing Eclipse (Helios) with appropriate PHP plugins.

I'm interested in learning about the following topics. Can someone point me to some pages or books that contain information on developing for the web?

• Revision Control for Web Development
• How to create development, test, and production environments
• How to develop for multiple sites on your localhost server
• Deploying changes to test and production environments
• Backup strategies for production environments
• Developing solo now, but possibly with a team later

Developing for the web is different than developing standalone apps. I have a lot to learn. In the past, I've been pretty lazy; I've just coded locally and uploaded files I've changed to the server without any revision control or backup. If I'm going to get serious about this, I'd like to move forward with some good practices in place.

For Windows:

Step 0: Download AVCWare iPod to iPod/PC/iTunes Transfer, install it on your computer.

Step 1: Connet your iPod to your computer with your iPod Date Cable.

Note: Before you run this iPod transfer, you should run your iTunes first to recognize your iPod, Once your iTunes recognize your iPod, close your iTunes and run your AVCWare iPod Transfer, then your iPod files will appear on the left of this transfer software.
Now you can transfer your files from iPod to iTunes/Computer/iPod or from local computer to your iPod.

Part 1: Transfer iPod files to Local computer.

Open the library/playlist that you want to export files, and then check the file(s) you want to export in the file list.

Click the "Backup to local" button to start exporting files.

Part 4: Create a Playlist

When the iPod/iPhone icon appears in the AVCWare iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer window, select a playlist below the iPod/iPhone icon. And then choose the New Playlist button to create an untitled playlist. This will appear at the bottom of the list of playlists below the selected iPod/iPhone icon.

Enter a name for your playlist. A short and descriptive name will help you organize your music and video on your iPod/iPhone.

Add audio or video files to your new playlist.



For Mac:

Step 0: Free download iPod to Mac Transfer , install and run it.
All information about your iPod, such as type, capacity, version, serial number, and format, will be shown on the main interface.
Tip: All functions for iPod are applicable to iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS as well except for the photo management.



Step 1: Transfer movies to iPod
Open the library/playlist that you want to transfer.
Click the "Add files to iPod" or "Add Folder to iPod" button.



Step 2: Locate the required audio files on the pop-up dialogbox and click "Open" button to import selected files to your iPod.



Step 3: Edit iPod Playlist
To those who want to create their own personalized iPod Playlist, you can try this function.

2. upload FLV videos to a private portal for each user, other users may not access these videos (i am using hwdvideoshare on joomla, but that has a different purpose then these private accounts)
3. Have the script be able to run on shared hosting

I host using HostMonster, and plan to have 15 - 30 simultaneous users. Bandwidth and space are not any troubles for right now.

The script needs to be compatible with major browsers, and hopefully use a free FLV video player like Flowplayer or JWPlayer.

Right now I am using an edited version of EyeOS (vrs 1.9), but each user triggers cpu throttling. I would like to have a simpler script, like joomla (but I already use joomla for a main site, and it cannot satisfy these needs), and a script that does not hog CPU, as eyeos is meant to be a full - blown internet operating system.
